As a trained nurse with many years professional experience in several medical fields, I am thoroughly familiar with both terminology and contexts/diseases.
In the course of my three-year apprenticeship (1998 and 2001) at the district hospital of Traunstein, I trained on a variety of wards , including cardiology, neurology, nephrology, urology,
dialysis, children's unit, intensive care unit and monitoring station.
Over subsequent years, I worked on the neurology ward of the same hospital, then in a care home and finally I gained experience in caring for psychiatry patients in an open
ward.
My training as a state certified translator with the AKAD Private University had economics as one of its core subjects.
Accordingly, the correct use of business and economic terminology was of great importance, especially in the university's modules "Übersetzen von Wirtschaftstexten Englisch/Deutsch" (How to
translate business-related texts
English/German), "Verhandlungsdolmetschen Englisch/Deutsch" (Negotiation Interpreting English/German), and "Economics".
Additionally, students acquired a comprehensive basic knowledge in economics.
When you need one of your documents in German, be it a marriage or birth certificate or a driver's licence, it is of course advisable not to have them "just translated" and then stamped - you
want the German text to be as authoritative and professional as the English original.
For these occasions, I have a precedent bank of certificates, school reports and CVs in both languages, so that the result will be impeccable.
As a publicly appointed sworn translator for legal and official matters in Germany, I will of course treat any kind of information disclosed to me as part of a translation assignment with the
utmost confidentiality.
Translating and composing advertising and sales copy has always been a favourite part of my role, as what matters here is creativity and deft language instinct, as well as accuracy and
diligence.
I have been able to gain a wealth of experience in this field, both during my stay in England when I collaborated intensively with Best4Systems and subsequently within Germany.
My training with the AKAD Open University has provided me with extensive knowledge of the institutions, the structure and the history of the European Union. Since early 2011, I have regularly translated sizeable EU related texts.
